The International Board of Dictionaries (IBD) announced its word of the year for 2020 at it’s Annual General Meeting, on Tuesday.
The selected word was “INCOMPETRUMP”
The word is inspired by Donald Trump’s hopeless mishandling of the coronavirus, and unwillingness to accept his landslide electoral defeat at the hands of Joe Biden, and also serves as a direct reflection of Trump’s four years in office.
“Incompetrump” is an adjective, pronounced [in-kom-pi-trump], whose definition is given as:
INCOMPETRUMP – The most extreme level of incompetence.
Speaking at the event, IBD President, Michael Farlane said “There really was no competition this year. This is the word we all knew would win 2020 Word of the Year.”
